Campbell & Pound is a professional practice of accredited real estate appraisers and an A+ accredited member of the Better Business Bureau, which has been active in the Vancouver metropolitan area including the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley for the past 78 years. Campbell & Pound originated in 1939 as a realty sales, insurance brokerage and notary public office. In 1961 the company began specializing in all aspects of real estate appraisal and related consultancy work. At that time, the company was located at the northwest corner of Burrard Street and West Broadway in the city of Vancouver. It has celebrated serving this industry for over 60 years, with its current head office in Richmond.

Brief History

The City of Vancouver – When the CPR announced Vancouver would be the railway’s terminus station, the town’s population was about 400. Four years after the railway arrived, the population expanded to 13,000. Incorporation came April 6, 1886 at a modest ceremony in Jonathan Miller’s house. A civic election followed quickly. A month later the first piece of business at the first meeting of Vancouver’s first city council, presided over by its first mayor, Malcolm Maclean, was the drafting of a petition to lease from the federal government a 1,000-acre military reserve to be used by the city as a park. This park later became Stanley Park. The mighty Fraser River has built up and shaped Vancouver’s islands and our city’s growth. The fishery and the rich Vancouver soil provided by the river has been the basis for our economy and industrial development. Vancouver’s history is rooted in fishing, agriculture, shipping, and aviation.
